Recent Success

On March 31, 2009, our client - who was detained at a detention facility in South Florida - was granted permanent residence after a three and a half hour adjustment of status examination. Our client was detained after his adjustment of status application (based on a marriage to a United States citizen) was denied on the grounds of an allegation of a false claim to US citizenship. The client was not eligible for an immigration court hearing (to renew his adjustment of status application) because he was a visa waiver program entrant. We were able to get his adjustment of status proceeding reopened by USCIS after demonstrating he was not guilty of a false claim to US citizenship. The client ultimately was granted permanent residence and, shortly thereafter, was released from the detention facility and reunited with his US citizen spouse and child.
